we
stand
we
stand
separate
yet the same
gazing at the night sky
as stars unfold their mystery
and dawn begins.
we stand
two worlds apart
yet not
as we gaze at the sky
each seeing that which lies within
their soul.
touched by God
now open to the lessons
we stand.
I wonder what you see
as I see so much
reflected in the dawn
that fills your face.
and I realize that we
as brothers on this earth
cannot be separated
by that which we create
to keep us safe within our walls.
for we are one
joining together
each with lessons to give
and take
as our short time opens
in this morning world.
we breathe in the air
and share the earth.
each part of that
which we become.
each part of that
which we leave behind.
we stand.
and we are one.
